I completed an IVA a roughly 17 years ago I have joint endowment policy although the property is not in my name. it is due to mature and I've been
asked if I've ever had an IVA how will this affect things

I would guess, in theory, that the endowment proceeds would have been viewed as an asset, albeit unmatured at the time and they are now trying to establish whether they should be paid to you or your former creditors. I doubt, however, that, after 17 years, your former IP has the records intact or the will to get involved.
