I am coming to the last year of my IVA and am still stuggling to pay the payments but want to see it through, although I beleive that I will still have to wait a year or so to be able to open an account or anything and I could not get a quote for public liability for insurance, why is this
If you are referring to a bank account, then you can open one now. The Co-op are recommended by posters on here.
There are a few posters on here who have had problems with Public Liability insurance. Hopefully one of those will come on to help out.

I think a previous poster got public liabiity insurance through the AA although I think there was a restriction for claims in the first 12 months, may be worth trying the AA.

I have had massive problems trying to get public liability insurance.
It kind of depends on what kind of public liability you are after. If you just want to be covered should you injur someone, I can recommend the AA and a company called Woodstock insurance.
If, like me, you want cover for damage to property being worked upon, I wish you all the luck in the world because I still can't find cover anywhere.
