I have an iva completion certificate dating back to 2009, it was issued by synergie partners.
Reading on your site it seems a tangled web 're this company getting hold of them.
Unwittingly recently I put in a claim for ppi it was explained to the PPI firm I had been in any iva they said I have a moral right to advise the ip if any compensation was awarded this it seems is what is happening I have been told to get a letter of release from synergie but from searching it seems they are no longer.
In view that my case is 10 years old who do I now turn to has my file been destroyed or is it sitting somewhere.
I wrote to synergie at the only address I had but have had no reply what can I now do
Your old firm no longer exists and ownership of the cases in progress have been transferred a few times since. I doubt a letter of release would be obtainable. The creditor witholding the refund is being a bit underhand here: He can't pay it to you on 'morality' grounds --- yet it is perfectly 'moral' for them to keep it ! Out of the chain of parties involved: 1) You, the person the money was stolen from in the first place. 2) The IVA trust / former creditors who cannot now be traced. And 3) the lender who stole the money. Ask them to apply their 'morals' to that ! Oh .... wait .... they stole the money .... no morals !
I would get a complaint in to the Ombudsman asap --- they have no jurisdiction over the IVA, but this is a 'witholding refund on spurious grounds' matter.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
