Hi there, I wonder if someone could help me? I've recently had my last IVA payment go out on 1st May, I've sent my wage slips and any bank statements in that has been needed through out the whole of the IVA. I telephoned Freeman Jones 2 days ago to ask if they had now got everything they needed to wrap up my case. I was very frustrated to find they were asking me for income proof that I had sent in weeks ago!!! I have sent them all again, what can I do if I contact them tomorrow and they say they have not had it again? I just want this over with now, my car is on it's last legs and not worth getting fixed, I really need finance for another one as I work in the community for the NHS and need my car.
Thanks in advance x

They have 6 months to finalise matters, although usually are much faster. If they keep losing paperwork, send hard copies by recorded delivery, so you have proof.

Some NHS Trusts allow car purchases through a salary sacrifice scheme -- might be worth making enquiries with HR.

A traditional car loan is going to be difficult / expensive at least until the 6th anniversary of the start of the IVA, even if you had completion sewn up today (assuming you had a 5 year arrangement).
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

I work at the NHS and they do a salary sacrifice scheme for cars. Don't think you keep the car but its maintained and you never have to pay anything except the one payment - unless its changed since I looked into the a couple of years ago.

We have a free ride to work bus - its the standard transport but we can flash our staff badge and go for free, not an ideal for everyone but its amazing some of the little things available in the short term.

Completely off topic - the reason I would never drive is I tried it once and was driving around for an hour trying to find a parking space - I had to give up and park several streets away from the hospital in a dodgy area - luckily I still had 4 wheels when I came back
IVA complete March 2014 after 6 years.

Thanks for your replies, I may just have to bite the bullet and shell out on my current car although it will grieve me :( can't see another option. I'll ring Freeman Jones again tomorrow for an update on my income info I've sent, fingers crossed aye?

Your credit rating is likely to be shot until the 6 year mark has passed.

Plus even if FJ close quicker than 6 months it takes up to 3 months to come off the register.
