I did my work experience at the library when I was at school and I spent the whole time worrying that it would show up on the computer! In the end I looked when I was on my own and there was no trace of it!

No such thing as work experience in my day.

I always wanted to be a librarian but you need a degree, so I was a bit stuffed there!

I did work experience in a wages office that was linked to the welfare office, now called Human Resources!

The wages were brought in my a security company and all doors and windows were shut as all monies were paid in case into their little brown envelopes! How things change?

Other than when I worked on a Saturday, my wages have always been paid into the bank.

HR used to be called Personnel.

I was always paid cash when I first worked and can remember my first wage of £16.00 for a full weeks work! Packing plants, I had no career until much later in life.

Other than Saturday jobs, I have worked for the police in one form or another since leaving school at 17, so have always been salaried.

Three and a half years and I can retire!
