My partner and I are thinking of moving to Australia. I have just started an IVA for an HMRC debt. Would it still be possible to emigrate to Australia while still paying the IVA? Will Australia refuse my visa application based on the IVA. It's might worth mentioning my partner is an Australian Citizen and we will be applying for a Partner related visa.

You can service an IVA from abroad -- remember to take account of currency fluctuations. Australia is very picky with visa's so I have no idea whether an IVA would be a hurdle -- best to ask their immigration people directly.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Not what you want to hear, but a friend was refused a residential visa for Australia due to their IVA. They had just 9 months to run on the term but didn't get to emigrate. You will need to speak directly with the Australian immigration panel to find out if they will let you in or not.
Last Payment made 04/12/14. Completion Certificate 25/7/15. IVA company GT. No Issues
