I live with my parents. When I applied for my IVA I told them I was paying £400 a month for rent.

If I chose to increase my rent payments for a few months to say, £450 a month, would I need to contact my IVA provider and let them know? Even with the extra payments I make I am still well within the budget I created.

If you wish to "divert" £50 from, say, your shopping allowance there should be no issues. You will only need to explain yourself if you are intending to change the allowances you claim.
