Hi All

I completed my IVA in May And received my completion certificate early Septmeber.

I have been checking the Insolvency Register daily to see if I have been taken off. I checked this morning and I still appear. However, I have just logged into checkmycreditfile and was astonished to see that my credit score had nearly doubled since i last checked on Friday. On further inspection the IVA is no longer showing. Happy Days.

My question is why is it still showing on the Insolvency register ? Could it just be a lag ?

Thanks in advance

It takes 'up to' three months from the date of the completion certificate to be removed from the Insolvency Register --- but more often three months to the day. Don't panic -- it will happen.

Thanks Foggy. Can I start to build up my credit worthiness now ? Vanquish Card or other ? Or do I need to wait until I drop off Insolvency Register ?

Thanks

The card issuers will look at credit files, rather then the Insolvency Register --- if the IVA has dropped off those there should be no issue.
I am in two minds about the effectiveness of 'credit builder' cards as their existence on file are an indicator, in themselves, of previous problems, although I had a Vanquis, which now sits on my files, unused, and it didn't seem to be any obstacle to getting other streams of credit offered.
Have a look at the last few entries on my blog ( link below) .
