The issue of an unemployed adult child attending further education, is that they should be allowed to claim allowances as part of the IVA towards their accomodation and tuition costs. I always encourage my clients to get their children to look for part time jobs - I had to have one when I was studying - but their financial upkeep is still the responsibility of their parents until they leave education.

I just chatted to PayPlan and they again said that our daughter wont be included in the budget but i should add a note at the bottom of our budget review.

Are there any standards regarding this situation?

So is she not included for the 32 weeks she is away, but then back in the budget when she is at home for the other 20 weeks?

So are the CCCS standards such that everyone should use the same approach?

I doubt if all firms use standard approaches. The CCCS supposedly produce guidelines and expenses outside of these are allowable if explained. If your current IP firm wants to stick rigidly to these guidelines and refuses to allow any leeway you should consider another opinion.

We claim £290 for three adults but that is for food. Toiletries and cleaning stuff are extras if I remember rightly.

I would class that as three adults and the maximum guideline is therefore £456 under the new guidelines.
