Still in shock but yes our IVA's have been accepted! It hasn't really sank in yet, maybe it is because my husband took the call, I don't know. Real mix of emotions, happy, relieved and ready to face a difficult 6 years. I know it won't be easy but the end is already in sight for the first time in our adult lives.

I want to say a huge thankyou to Melanie and her team, they have all been great, so helpful and understanding when we have needed them. Being so easy to speak to, helped make the decision to do something about our debts a little easier by having non-judgemental people to speak to. In the begining, I couldn't even bring myself to talk to Tina on the phone about our debt but she made me feel really comfortable and put me at ease. A big thankyou again Tina, Angela, Tomas, Gareth and especially Melanie.

Everyone on the forum, posting at all hours, thankyou to you too. You know who you are but I wonder if you know just how much comfort you bring to people like me, just starting out. You can be quite desperate sometimes waiting for someone to answer your post and you are always there in a flash with support even if you can't advise. You are wonderful people on here.

I will keep posting but again, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou x x x

congrats m8
i know what frought time it is waiting for that call and when it does come nothing is really sinking in untill a few hours after.
then your thoughts turn to setting up that first payment.
you will be fine from now on just keep on top for the first year then it becomes easier to take being in a iva.
nov will be my 2nd aniversary and life is pretty much back to a normal routine and you will actullay enjoy shooping around for stuff and paying cash for it.
when its all over i will find it hard to get out of that mode of thinking and will be quids in[:D]
cc received 6th January 2014 now upwards and onwards

Congratulations, excellent news. I've got my IP meeting with Melanie today so, hopefully, in a few weeks time I'll be making a similar post.
Congratulations again, well pleased for you.

Superb news Heavy.

Just think in 60 months you will have to change that forum name to something more relevant.

Well done to Mel and team.

A real pleasure.

We are all so pleased for you - its such a great feeling for us too when our clients get the good news. I know those first phones calls are always so hard but if I could bottle what you are feeling now and give a spoonful to each new client I speak to to give them some reassurance it would make things easier.

Well done for sticking with it and here's to your new debt free way of life. Yes it may be tough from time to time but not unmanageable and definitely nothing to give you sleepless nights over again.

Happy celebrating!

Thanks everyone. There was only black horse who didn't agree. We have had to do an extra year so six, but Melanie had prepared us for this and to be honest, we don't mind too much. We are lucky that we could do this in the first place. Like many others, we don't like the thought of not paying our debts fully but I dread to think how bad it would have got if we couldn't of done this.

We are going to keep track of every penny now, writing everything we spend down. I have already started planning meals so there is no waste and cannot believe that we are going to have money for clothes when we need them! Something we haven't had the luxury of for a while, well, except for our baby. We are fortunate that we have a good budget set and we both agree that we should be more than able to live within it.

Still can't believe it! Accepted!

xx

Thanks again everyone.

Bedtime for me nearly, I am exhausted as I just tossed and turned all of last night. Looking forward to snuggling down and realising I have nothing major on my mind for the first night in a while.

Good night to everyone x
