Hi All

Apologies for this late post, but after the decision at our Creditors meeting that was held on Friday 20th August, we had to go and collect our children from Kent at there grandparents and have only just got back home.

Anyway, I am very glad and excited to say that our IVA was accepted on Friday. I telephond the office 10 minutes after the meeting as they asked me to, and feeling very sick.., I spoke to a really lovely person who confirmed that the IVA had been accepted. Most off our creditors voted, and for the ones that were bothered they all voted yes. We had a couple of modifications, but I was so pleased and releaved when she told me that we were ALLOWED to keep the car (some of you will remember, that we were desperate to keep the car), and there would be No equity release in our property at the end of the agreement. Although with the car they had asked for an extra year of payments, which makes our IVA 72 months.

You would not beleive what a huge relief this has been and how a hole load of weight felt like it had been lifted that afternoon, I just could not stop sighing!!!! and taking deep breaths, taking it all in.

The repsonse on this forum has been amazing, not just to my questions, by to many others, and I will definaltley be staying on here and offering any advise to others that may help them in this very hard circumstance.

We have already started to use our new budget plan, and to be honest it makes me feel sick to even want to spend money at the moment. I physically feel terrible over the thought of even going food shopping. I need to buy a new kettle as mine is leaking a little, but I just don't want to spend the money. I know it sounds silly, but I want to save it!!!.

I really hope that everyone out there finds the solution that is right for them, as the day I picked up the phone, desperate for advice about our finances, admitting that we had a problem, was one of the best decisions I have made in a long time.

A special thank you to Thriftywitch, Lyn, Jan, Skippy, Lesley, Helen Andy Davie, Melanie Giles, Michael Peoples.

Just also to add that we would of loved to join all of those at the Xmas get together, but I have googled the area and it looks like it would take us about 3 hours to get there, and we would need an overnight stay. I really don't think we would be able to afford the fuel that close to Xmas, but I am sure that you will all have a great time.

Thanks Again
Sam [:)][:)]

Congratulations Sam, what a relief for you.

You will love budgeting and having money left once you've finished the food shopping.

Sorry you're not going to be able to come at Christmas.

We tend to choose the Midlands as it is central for most people as users are spread far and wide.

Perhaps next year?

Hi Hammie 1,
it is on the profile page it asks you to put the date your IVA started in and it automatically added the countdown to my profile. I did change the date though as I make my payments on the 1st of the month but my IVA wasn't until the 21st so it was always a month behind, once I changed it to the date I made my payment it is correct.
