Good luck to you Lou74, I am sure everything will work out for you to. It was a long hard, stressful wait, and I can tell you it still feels great knowing that when the 0845 numbers call, I can tell them that we are in an IVA. Like many others I think the hardest step is making that inital phone call, but the two companies that I am using having been absolutley brilliant. I was concerned from the beginning as I was paying someone to do the leg work for me so unfortunatley, unlike others on here, I was not able to save any money, whilst not paying the creditors, but every penny has been worth it, knowing that we are know sorting ourselves out. For us a lot off the creditors we had, unfortunately was not just a good time spending, but unfortunate bills that we needed to address, and that was a lot of the reason why we got in such a mess. I am not using this as an excuse, but so thankful that we got help, before the situation got out of hand.

We initially used Debt Advice Link based in Manchester, who took on all the pressure and wrote to the creditors etc. It was then passed through them onto Debt Lifeboat where our IP was and it was them that organised the creditors meeting etc through to the end. (both companies work together). Debt Advice Link also collected all the inital paperwork, statements, wage slips etc from us, they then did the rest of the footwork and got all outstanding amounts owed. They also delt with any creditors that was calling us and hassling, so if they called here, we then just directed them to Debt Advice Link. Would highly recommend them. If you do decide to use them send me a quick post and I could give you the details and a contact name.
