Hi, I am looking at applying for an IVA but we want to apply for a visa for my Australian partner to join me in UK and I am wondering if the IVA could have a negative impact on the application? Many thanks, Tracey

We have had a recent post from someone in a similar position and he was told, by another poster who had been through the process, that it should not affect sponsorship.

My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

From experience there is a section that asks are you / or have you been in an IVA or Bankrupt on a residents visa application however not on a tourist visa (2 or 5 years). This is also applicable to the sponsor, if the person is not coming in on their own financial supporting documents.
Whether or not it influences the outcome I could not say.
