Hi

We are with Freeman Jones previously HB for our IVA and our last payment was made on the 1st September. They’ve said our end date is 29th September and no more payments are due. They have asked for all September wage slips which is all left to do. They have said they will take up until the end of November to do final review and then up to 6 months from then for us to get our completion letter taking us to May next year which is almost 9 months after final payment has been made is this how long it is meant to take? My husband gets paid on the 30th September (the day after our IVA ends) and there is a chance his wage will be higher from then on than previous due to a military move and allowances because of that move, will they make us pay this in even though the 5 years is up on 29th September?

Thank you to anyone that can advise!

Most arrangements allow for 6 months from the end of the IVA to issue the completion certificate and there are also provisions for this to be extended if need be.However, most firms, with one or two exceptions manage to get this all done within a couple of months, and sometimes a couple of weeks --- but will still quote 6 months to be on the safe side.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Re the potential increase in wage immediately after the final payment has been made .... I would enjoy it, maybe put the difference to one side for couple months - you should not have to declare any further increase in wages or extra payments as your at the end of your iva.
