I filled out an IP form and had just under £200 towards my IVA. However, they said my expenditure was too much and I had to pay back £310 each month. They wouldn't budge. We are struggling. We don't have luxuries. I will have to add my kid's student maintenance loan, which he will need every penny of and we won't have anything over to give him. However, I a worried they will upper the payments because of the student loan. It seems they can calculate it how they want and it is not clear what they are doing.

I would speak to one or two more companies before making a decision. It may be that your expenditure is too high - have they given you any indication as to what expenses they think are too high.

How long have you been in the IVA ? Or are you yet to begin ?

If you haven't started yet, speak to another provider, who may be more sympathetic.

Can you give us an idea of what you have claimed for and we can see if it falls within the guideline figures.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
