Hi All,

We started our IVA in March 2014 and finally received our completion certificate on 18th June 20.

Like most, we’ve been watching the insolvency register for our names to disappear but to no avail. The status still says active with the date it started.

I understand it takes 3 months from the date of notification but as it’s been an extra week am I being too impatient?

I completed the IVA through what is now known as the financial wellness group and to say I don’t trust them to send the information out is an understatement.

Advice and thoughts needed please...

Thanks

Foggy

The entry on the insolvency register should have dropped off three months after the issue of the completion certificate. The fact that it still shows 'Current' would indicate that they have not had ( or have misplaced)b the information. I would be inclined to send them a copy directly. You can open communication using the 'report errors' button at the bottom of your entry online.

If you are seeing 'ACTIVE', you haven't clicked through to the full details page (click on your surname in the results page of the IR search ) ... it should show 'current' or 'completed' there.

Thanks Foggy, as I thought...

Just been back on and it states Current. I did use the report error link and tried the telephone number; just goes to a voicemail and is very little use.

Perhaps I need to consider sending a copy of the completion certificate to the Birmingham post code.

Thanks again,

Did you pop your email address in the relevant box on the report error page ? I found they responded within a couple of days to this when I had my 'run in' with them .... of course covid could be putting a dampener on response times.

I would send a copy of it recorded delivery as well as email them again with your details.

If you've made a query on the register entry, they will contact the IP directly for clarification but you could also send a copy of the final report yourself.

Many thanks for the reply’s...

I’ve used the report error link and left my contact details but as a matter of course I may also send a copy of the completion certificate via recorded delivery.

So close to finally drawing a line under all this, hopefully this is the final hurdle.

Thanks again,

So, contacted the Insolvency service via the link and after some contact managed to email them all the completion paperwork and a covering letter quoting IVA rule 8.31... thought that would be it and I would be removed from the register overnight.

Here we are over a week later and still on there. Emailed them again today to be told they cannot accept the completion paperwork as there is no mention of rule 8.31!!

They've tried twice to contact my IP... nothing. I've now contacted the IP and tried to kick it along but need to wait until Monday...

WILL THIS EVER END??? Incredibly despondent now

It's odd that they haven't been informed directly by the IP in this respect, and they should have received your completion documents at the same time you did.

However, delays due to Covid19 may have played their part with postal delays and reliability etc - it would certainly be worth sending a full copy of your completion documentation, though it looks like you might be having trouble getting them to accept what you've sent.

I believe there's a Financial Wellness Group staffer who posts here occasionally - memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=18295 You could try sending them a message on here, or emailing them at ian.williams at financialwellnessgroup.co.uk. He's always seemed very helpful when posting here; it would be worth a shot!
Hi! I used to work for one of the UK's biggest Insolvency Practitioners - I don't work for an IP anymore but still have an extensive knowledge of the IVA industry. How can I help?
