can I do an iva without going through a debt management company??

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately you cannot do an IVA yourself, it has to be done by a quaified Insolvency Practitioner.

You can either go direct to an IP, or you can use a debt firm to help you out initially.

Either way, if you are thinking of an IVA, I recommend that you visit www.iva.com for a list of companies and reviews. Give one or two a ring for free and impartial advice.

Hi and welcome from myself too, great link provided by Jan and as she says always advisable to ring 2 or 3 companies to ensure impartial advice. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
