Hi all, I getting myself stressed already but landlord just been around to tell me he seriously thinking of selling. I said that houses are selling like hot cakes. 5 on my street alone from my front door all with sold on it...
I am in my second year of an IVA. Finding another landlord is going to be difficult already... Let alone I have a very decent landlord and he rents it below the market.. my neighbour is 250 plus more a mouth... There no way I can save 6 months deposit your looking at 6000 plus more and that not going to look good for a IVA. I live in expensive, I already have 20 miles into work... My otherhalf has 35 miles (one way).
Stressed already, I had no option but to enter an IVA, I never missed a payment but I had 10 pound to my name at the end of the month no including food. So I was skint.. it all started with going on maternity leave, and then costs of nursery fees etc. I never missed a rent payment my IVAs were credit cards and loans and more cards to pay off the other cards etc. It got to the point I was working and paying bills but could not do anything else... The IVA saved me but it's very hard and now my home (unfortunately renting I never felt it's home as it can be taken off you this is the 3rd time it's happened and never gets easier).
What do I do if he does sell where do I go next.. Its my fault the debt but I feel I let down my family..
Sorry did not know who else to.talk to as IVA are so difficult to approach..
Private landlords are better to approach - can anyone stand as guarantor or could a family member help with a deposit? If the IVA is in your name you could always get your other half to take on the rental in his name solely.

The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.

As Kallis says, a private landlord, rather than going through an agency, will not usually credit check and will depend on references from your current landlord, which he will, hopefully, provide.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
