So we are looking around for a cheapy 2nd hand one to last us the year, but even those are expensive compared to the money we have available - as you all know.

Have you tried FreeCycle for your area flow ... I got a good lawnmower from ours a few weeks ago ... petrol one not a cheapo plastic one.

I had to have a new one at the beginning of my IVA and a good suggest by Wizz, but if there is nothing about ask for a payment break to make up the deficit and pay a little extra into your IVA to catch up the arrears, you can't be without one. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Already been onto freecycle and nothing is going. And we are not allowed any more payments breaks/reduced payments.
Looks like washing in the bath!

Oh no! Keep an eye out on Freecycle I'm sure things change all the time on there x

Well my dad has offered to lend us the money to get a new washing machine. So we are off shopping tomorrow.

Just remember though that you might need to run this past your IP as it may be classed as credit.
