After having our Iva’s accepted last week, my wife has received a letter from Viking collections today stating that her Debenhams/Santander account has been passed on to them.

They are requesting payment of the full amount within 7 days.

There is a phone number on there for my wife to ring, but was wondering if they will require proof of our Iva acceptance, or would just telling them of the acceptance be enough to satisfy them.

When my wife rings them to explain the situation are they likely to still ask for payment, and if they do would it be correct to tell them that they should not be pursuing us for payment.

Also printing Viking Collection Agency in red letters next to the name and address on the letter, so that it is clearly visible through the envelope for everyone to see was a nice touch.

Hi Newleaf,

Don't worry about this at all, the details have not filtered through yet.

You can try phoning them and explaining and telling them not to phone you again and give them your IP's details.

I'd tell your IP as well.

If you have a copy of the Chairman's Report you could attach this to the letter and send it back. Alternatively, if you have access to a fax machine ring them and fax it over.

Thanks for the quick response.

I will get my wife to ring them as it is her account, and let them know the situation.

I have not received the Chairman’s Report as of yet, but will offer to scan/email or post this to them when I have it.

I still recieve debt collector letters now and I've been in an IVA for almost a year. I just pop them in an envelope and send them on to my IVA people!

Viking are a in-house division of santander. Just forward it to your ip. They are nothing to worry about.
