Hi there
Writing as an employer of someone with debt issues and trying to find ways to help. Having found out that a new employee has debt problems we are trying to help them find the right advice and help. They have told me that their dad fraudulently had an IVA made in their name and they are now paying it off at £80 per month .. is it possible to make someone else responsible for your debt even if that person agrees. They have told us about other debts and due to a family dispute they may be made homeless. Just trying to unpick various strands so we are better informed to make a decision. Any insight, guidance would be appreciated. Thank you

I would be consulting a solicitor as what he has done is fraudulent.

If it's fraudulent then they should speak to the IP and have the IVA voided.

Are any of the debts the employee's true liabilities?

I cannot see how dad made the employee take out an IVA in the employees name, but including the dad's debts ( or have I got this wrong !?), assuming the IP did their part correctly.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
