Mbna and halifax

Going through iva was asked to open a new bank account so opend it with halifax mbna are 1 of the creditiors will this affect my halifax account?

Hopefully not but I would consider opening another account with someone like the Co-op.

Potentially. MBNA are owned by Lloyds Banking Group, as are HBOS. I wouldn't be sure how deep the information sharing goes but it wouldn't hurt to consider a basic bank account outside the group.
