Can someone help me. My daughter has autism and is going to be travelling 3 hours s day to school and we want to buy her a phone for her birthday. I have tried to take out a contract and it won’t let me. This is even with paying for the phone. I never had this before, we were in an iva that finished over 10 years ago. I don’t want her to have pay as you go

Have they told you why? Have you checked your record to make sure it is totally clear?

Check your credit files with each agency and see if there is anything untoward there. Which provider has refused you ?

I think you may have misunderstood. I am in an IVA now but when I did another IVA 12 years ago I didn’t have a problem renewing my mobile phone contracts or taking out a mobile phone contract as it was seen as a utility. How can I get phone contact for my kids that travel 35 miles in a taxi to school

Ah , apologies --- difficult to keep up with everyone.

Many of us have managed to get contracts even while in the IVA ( I did with T-Mobile ). It really falls to choice of provider. Hopefully a few who managed it will tell us who they contracted with.

This was with 02 and I was just trying to buy an iphone 7 outright and then do a contract for the airtime. We have 3 other contracts with 02 in our family that we have had for years.

I'm with O2 and have been for years including upgrading during my IVA. Did you do it through the company itself or via something like carphone warehouse.
