Hi, wondered if anyone could give me advice my last IVA payment was last July my final completion date was 4th October. The IVA no longer appears on my credit reports. I want to get some advice on taking out a mortgage in the next six months. I’ve got. 20k deposit gifted to me by my Mum I potentially have the option to by my council property at a 50% plus discount rough max market value is 220k so roughly would need to borrow 90k other option is to find a property of my own but obviously would need to borrow a lot more if I went down that route. Would like some good advice on my chances of getting a mortgage or what else I should be doing to improve my chances. I’m 35 so don’t want to hang around forever but don’t want to rush and be refused. Any advice much appreciated

I would suggest a chat with a whole of market broker with experience in adverse credit. We have two such who advise forum members and have helped quite few between them: Ryan and Shaun. Their contact details can be gleaned from their profile pages here:

Ryan: memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=18488
Shaun: memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=22837
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
