Could you recommend who to approach for a mortgage following completion of our IVA?
Completion date was dept 2017 so it was cleared off the credit file in 2018. Credit scores are both good with no travel of the IVA on there.

Hi Katybeck. Well done on getting this far. Given what you say there are likely to be lenders available to you, it's a matter of now making sure that your credit file is clear and then identifying a lender who will consider your application BEFORE you apply. There may be a little work to be done but it should be possible to secure something very competitive for you.

Thank you for all the replies so far. So our credit files are clear (the IVA fell off as it should of and we nothing was left on) we both have good ratings (840 out of 1000 and 820 on My File). We have both had credit cards to build up our file, these are paid off each month and we have had no issues. We have a 10% deposit for a property in our area. I just wondered which direction to turn now because I know high street lenders won't touch us and I don't want to try and get turned down and put a mark on our credit files !

Some High Street lenders would be able to help, and some non High Street can offer 'High St.' rates.

A broker versed in the ways of lenders would know which lender to approach in the light of all of your circumstances. Both the brokers who have responded to this thread have experience in this field and have assisted many forum members.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

There are many other factors lenders take into account when assessing an application but your IVA in itself will not prevent an application being accepted by the right lender at a competitive rate. Without knowing the rest of your circumstances it would be impossible to say which would be appropriate and this is where experience, knowledge (and sometimes access to exclusive arrangements) can bring success. Do not too hung up on your credit score itself, this is really just indicative by the credit reference agencies and lenders have their own specific criteria.

I can personally vouch for the services Ryan and his team gave to us and continue to give when looking for new mortgage deals. They enabled us to move and get back on the property ladder 9 years ago. If you click on his name his contact details will come up.
