my daughter has had a dro accepted and currently have no assets so there is no reason why it shouldnt go through in 12 months time , however she has just passed her driving test but doent want to purchase a car as she is worried she will mess the dro up. can she be insured to drive my car without it failing her dro or forcing me to sell my car or can i give her a car as a gift and it be registered in her name if she doesnt pay for it.

Hi Karen,

I don't know a lot about DRO's but do know someone who does will be along very soon.

Within an IVA as I am, i don't think it would be wrong to be insured on another persons car.

Hang around someone will be along very soon.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I don't see any reason why she cannot be insured to drive your car. It will have no impact on her DI.

Not sure about you giving her a car though as it is an asset. Would depend on how much it was worth.

Perhaps better to wait until the DRO has finished?

If you are going to give a gift, keep the registration in your name until she is discharged from the DRO.
