I have been in an IVA for almost 3.5 years, and up until now I have never declared it as part of my annual good repute declaration. The reason being is that I had read that you only need to disclose it if you are directly involved in the companies finance, or of a high standing amongst decision making management. This morning I received an email saying that our company is doing a random audit and I have been selected to have a credit check. I work in the insurance industry, and am now petrified that I could lose my job. Any advise would be very much appreciated.
Company's policies will vary from company to company and the answer will lie in your terms of engagement and / or staff handbook. Generally the reaction is pretty positive from firms these days. Maybe a (possibly anonymous ) call to HR will put your mind at rest.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
