I have been in an iva for 6 years ( finished 15th October 2017)
My last payment was in April 17
The company I an dealing with say they can hold off on the certificate for another 12 months.
Is this correct?
I am phoning every two weeks and not getting very far.

Is there a specific reason they are saying they will hold off issuing a completion certificate or are they just being obstructive? You do have a right to officially complain to the IP and then if not satisfied with the outcome you can complain to the governing body.

Most arrangements have the term to include a 6 month adnin period. This can be extended twice, once for 3 months and once by 6 months, on giving the correct prior notice as detailed in the clause in your paperwork under "Length of Arrangement". If they do not give notice they are acting against the agreed terms and you have a cause for complaint. The regulatory bodies have stated that PPI investigations are not reason alone for extending, so get your IP to explain why they are being tardy.

Which company are you with? Some take longer than others.

12 months is ridiculous. They've had 6 months already. Why have they said 12 more? What do your proposals allow?

Consider making a formal complaint.
