My mortgage is at the limit of my income multiple, so what will happen when the time comes to release what little equity is in my house?

If you cannot obtain a remortgage and there is equity in the property your IVA will probably be extended by twelve months. It will then be closed down and you will not be expected to try again for a refinance.
