Good Evening
I was made redundant in March 21 and used part if my redundancy payment to successfully pay off my IVA in full and final in April 2021. I'm awaiting my completion certificate which I understand can take up to 6 months.

I've been looking for employment and today was offered a role to start in Sept 21. I understand they will carry out background checks ie dbs and maybe security clearance.

My question is does anyone know if the iva will show up on a dbs or security clearance check and could they withdraw the job offer because of the iva I've had even though it wasnt due to finish til May 2023.

Many Thanks

It won't show up on a DBS check but, depending on what checks are required for this job, it may show up on there. You could be upfront with them and explain or make an anonymous call to HR to check.

Thank you Kallis3 for the response. I just didnt know what would make an employer withdraw an offer.

I will calm them on Monday and find out.

Thanks again

If it is brought up be honest and upfront --- they might not be concerned about an IVA, but could be concerned if they catch you in a lie.

The IVA will not show up on a DBS or a soft search for identity purposes.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Thank you for the advice and guidance.

I'm happy to be upfront and my iva provider are also happy to provide a reference.
