Hi all,

I had my IVA accepted yesterday & i cannot even begin to explain how much relief i feel. Finally i can get my life back on track and stop thinking about my debt every second of the day.

However, I could do with some advise on one of the terms of my IVA:

One modification made was that I needed to apply for Tax free childcare/Proof of childcare vouchers. This needs to be done within 3 months of my IVA application being accepted.

(To give some background, I have a 2.5 year old child & i pay £265.00 a month for pre-school). My Wife receives Universal credit so it was my understanding we would not get any further childcare support).

My question is, how to i apply/ what do i do if we are not entitled?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

I imagine this is what they are talking about : https://www.gov.uk/30-hours-free-childcare

The request is that you apply --- if you do not get it, at least you have done as asked and applied.

Hi! My son is 2 and he’s been going to nursery since before my Iva so I already had tax free childcare. It’s basically a government scheme where for every 80p you pay in to childcare, the government give you 20p. So my nursery fees are £756 a month but with the government help I only pay £605. https://www.gov.uk/get-tax-free-childcare This is the website to get you started. Me and my boyfriend both work 40 hours a week and we still got accepted for it. Hope this helps!

I have just followed the link above to apply for the account, This was the response:

Not sure what else i can do?

' You're not eligible for tax free child care or 30 hours free childcare if your partner isn't either in paid work or on a qualifying benefit '
