I entered into an IVA in 2009, this finished in Nov 2015 and I got my certificate. ClearScore has me with an "Excellent" credit score, however, Noddle and GiffGaff, show me with a below average score. The only difference between the 3 is that the 2 that show me with a below average score, show a Credit Card I took out in 2000, which was part of the IVA, and shows "transactions" every month from 2012 to Nov 2015. It shows a monthly balance of -2 and a monthly limit of 500. Its obvious to anyone who sees this that I was in some kind of IVA or financial difficulty. How come its just this one credit card that shows up when all the others have gone. Also why does it not show up on ClearScore? Any help on how, why and what to do to remove this would be greatly appreciated.

The three agencies are CallCredit (Noddle) , Experian and Equifax (Clearscore) -- I assume Giffgaff is a predictive text error :-)

The card still showing sounds like it was never defaulted, which is why everything is still showing. Have a read here: https://www.iva.co.uk/what-does-an-iva- ... dit-record

Different creditors report to different agencies, so what shows on one might not show on another ... which is why it is important to check all three.

I found that Noodle had a lower score for myself than Clearscore did (which was in the Excellent band) but they also completely omitted my mortgage from their reports.

Have not looked back at Noodle since that first try about 3 months ago and just keep an eye on Clearscore which, for myself, shows everything.

You might find this quick video I made about cleaning up your credit record useful:

Noddle and Clearscore are also free credit agencies to consider using:

If the credit card was included in your IVA it should no longer be showing on your credit file and you should write to them to ask them to correct it. This should have a positive impact on your credit file but don't be too consumed by how the credit reference agencies score you, this is just an indication; lenders generally have their own unique ways of assessing it. I'd suggest getting this record corrected, make sure you are registered on the voters' roll and use a credit card regularly but make sure you clear it every month....and make sure you maintain all other commitments. These things will all help.

To expand a little on Shaun's reply -- the prospective lenders who do a credit search do not actually see a score --- that is an indicator for us as the file subjects only. They base their decisions on the content and history.
