Hi we were in an Iva with Mitchell and farrer it finished maybe six years ago. We no longer have the completion certificate and the company has gone into liquidation. Recently a debt company has contacted us asking for money from an old debt which was included in the Iva.
What can we do about this
Hopefully you can find out who took over. Your debt will have been covered in your IVA.

There seems to be a new tend of firms getting hold of old debts and just trying it on to see if someone will pay up when asked. At this stage I would be inclined to ignore them to see if they follow up. In the meantime see if you can get gold of copies of your old paperwork --- maybe the county court will still have a copy (back along local courts were involved) or even the Insolvency Service themselves.
CreditFix bought the Mitchell Farrar caseload, they may know where the old files went.

The liquidators were: James Miller (IP No. 21290) and Keith Marshall (IP No. 9745) both of RSM Restructuring Advisory LLP, Central Square, 5th Floor, 29 Wellington Street, Leeds, LS1 4DL. They may have som clues as to the resting place of old files.
