Hi. I'm in an iva with Creditfix and i qualify for the government one off £500 payment for working families in receipt of tax credits. Will i be able to keep that money
That is a very good question, and I am afraid that I do not know the answer ---- my gut feeling is that it is yours to keep .... the Government state on their website that it is not counted as income for tax purposes, nor is it to be regarded as income for any benefits. After all it is not a 'cash handout', but a repayment of extra expenses incurred during lockdown. I would like to think that IP's look at it in the same light. But, as is often the case these days, it is impossible to guess which way CF will jump ! Only they can tell you .... and, I am sure, we would ALL be interested in the answer !
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Just recieved the answer... Yes, its mine, all mine yayyyy
I dont why, they where not very sepcific. I'm not sure if its for the reasons you mention or if it falls within there windfall max amount which is usually £500 i believe. Either way, my teenage daughter and i are going to have a lovely month in May.
Thank you for replying.
