i have recently put up a post how do we get out of iva been in it 2 years now my husband has falling health i work only part time now our debts were £15,000 the reason for this my husband had a heart bypass done iva knew about this and pushed us in to this handover. if a family member pays they want £ 5,100 but they now cant do it please please can some one tell me best options ( is it going to a debt management plan or closing help would be appreciated we only pay £ 100 into it but was shocked to see they payments of just £3.99 get paid out we want this stopped if if my husband dies im left with debt
Your options have been explained in the other posts. A DMP is dependent on creditors co-operating and will leave you to settle the debts out of his estate, should he sadly pass. A failed IVA is possibly going to make the creditors less likely to help, but it might be worth having a chat with Stepchange ( they do fee-free DMPs and have close ties with creditors).
As also mentioned in replies to your other posts, maybe looking at a full and final, based on payments made to date is worth looking at. Basically, explaining the dire circumstances to the creditors and asking them to "call it quits". This way the IVA is successfully ended early and the debts wiped clean. If you are seriously thinking of cancelling the IVA anyway, you have little to lose by asking.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
