Good news about the car.
I would be happy to have a look at your I&E and give you some pointers on what you can get approved.

Thanks Queenie here is what I thought would be ok.

Income £950 wages
Pension £53
Child Benefit £18
Child Tax Credit £150

Total £1,171

Outgoings

Rent £125 but taken from wages before net pay so don't this count

Housekeeping £350

Gas/Elec £80

Water Rates £0.00 included in accommodation

Telephone/ Mobiles + Internet £68 two of us

Traveling £60

Clothing £80 for two of us

Council Tax £97

Car Tax/ Insurance £25

Car Repairs Servicing £40

Life/Household Insurance £ not sure here as have none as yet

TV £12

Pet Insurance £12

Hairdressing £20 two of us

Medical Prescriptions,Dentist,Opticians £30 just me

Holidays £50 Two of us

School Dinners and School Trips £60

Total £984

Think I should have added more to Gas/Elec as I have a direct debit for Electric at £50 this is what EDF Energy said I should pay. So only £30 left for gas heating which I think will not be enough. If I have forgotten anything let me know. Also not sure if the child Benefit or Child Tax credit has to use as income I know they as for it but someone said they do not count this in the income as its meant to be for the child.

Any help is much appreciated.

Mick

How about this?
Housekeeping 350
Gas/Elec 90
Telephone 68
Travelling 70
Clothing 80
Council Tax 97
Car Tax/Insurance 50
Car Repairs 50
Household insurance 20
Dry Cleaning 15
TV 12
Pet Ins 12
Hairdressing 25
Medical 30
Holiday 50
School Dinners/Trips 60

Total 1079

You need to factor in household insurance, and they allow for drycleaning.
Whether they allow you to keep £350pm housekeeping will depend on how many in the household, but you can argue that this includes lunches for work and animal food etc.

Sorry there is only Myself and my 15 year old daughter.

The car tax and insurance in my I & E is correct as the tax is only £62 a year for a Reliant so £50 a month is too high.

You can try for £350 and see what they say. This would leave you with a small surplus but not enough to mean an IPA

Sorry, missed the bit about the car tax and insurance. Put the £50 down anyway, as if you only put £40 you have enough surplus for an IPA of around £50pm

I was allowed £350 for food and housekeeping for 2 adults.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

What would the food/housekeeping allowance be for husband, wife & 19yr old son? (Son is in part-time education and works about 10hrs a week).

Hi all, I sent my I & E off to the OR over a week ago but have not heard anything as yet. Is this normal, or would it be better for me to call them to find out what is happening. I just want to get the ball rolling one way or the other. The waiting is driving me mad.

Yes this is normal. The file will have to go back to the original examiner for review of your I&E. At this time of year it is possible they are taking some holidays etc.
There would be no harm in calling to find out if you wish.

Its been such a long time since I visited the forum, or it seems that way. I have now had my IE sorted. And am having to pay back the sum of £64 a month for 3 years. Its better than I thought it would be so have signed the papers and sent them back.

I am now looking forward to the new Year with a smile on my face at last[:)][:D]

I did have one hicup last week when my wife rang me about an overpayment of Working Tax Credit that we incured together. Saying that they are now chasing her for it as I have been made bankrupt.

She left me 16 months ago to bring up my daughter on my own. And now she wants me to pay half of the dept.
Allthough I am willing to do this, I am not sure if I am aloud to. How would the OR react if I started to pay half of this off. Would it be seen as favouring one of my creditors over the others.

One other point is that I had a Endowment policy in both our names, the OR has this now but my wife is after here half of this as well. I paid all the monthly installments over the past 10 years. How do I find out what its worth and get them to settle this with my wife as soon as possible. Will I need to contact the OR about this, or do we have to wait till they contact us.
