Nope ... My parents were Arkwright's and didn't believe in leaving the shop shut ... and I myself have never earned enough to allow for holidays ... bit of a b***** that I think.

Not good Ray. Holidays are wonderful - a time to unwind and leave the everyday stresses behind and enjoy doing not a lot.

Awww thanks Leslie ... I'd love too but me meeting people face to face is the easiest way I know to lose friends [:D]

@Helen - WELL DONE!!!!! God you must feel amazing. Agree though it probably feels VERY surreal.

I will probably run naked down the street when mine finishes as it'll probably feel like some weird hallucination haha.

Holidays are so important, especially due to the strain we are all under, but I agree it's very hard to find the money. My last proper holiday was Florida as well lol in 2008 just before I got married, great place.

I'm lucky enough to be getting away in 2 weeks for 3 days to Brussels, my mate is a local and is putting me up, he even got me a return ticket for £66 on the Eurostar!! Being doing a few extra shifts to earn some spending money and I'm off.....can't wait :D

We're going to Lyme Regis next month and I can't wait as it'll be a proper holiday. We're lucky that Dave's mum has a holiday cottage in Sussex, but it's extremely old and constantly needs work done on it so it's a bit of a busman's holiday for Dave as he's a handyman!

I'm not moaning though, as it's nice to get away when we want!

I think that's why although we can have free holidays (and take the cat!) Dave likes to go somewhere else - probably why he's always chipped for me over the last few years!

Dave has my every sympathy lol.

Thank god I've nearly finished work, been here since 4.20am on a Bank Holiday Monday, this on top of working 6 days last week and only having yesterday off. Not looking forward to the 4 mile cycle uphill to get home, I need that holiday now haha.

I've just got home from work. It's been very quiet.
