I have been paying too much tax working for an agency. I started a new job in October last year and I had been paying too much tax so I haven't paid tax until today. Credit fix are doubling my IVA and putting £20 extra amonth. This was not extra money it shouldn't have been deducted. I sent my payslips to them so they would know it was my gross pay not my net put they want £1168 from me and I haven't got it

I have received my annual review and even after explaining that I started a new Job on Less money and I had paid too much tax this is evident on my payslips My month payment has gone up from £185 per month to £205 a month and they require £1168 due to my net pay being higher due to paying no tax. My wage is 12.50 an hour and I get 45 hours a week
This money was not extra it was tax that I should not have paid .

I would write to them in clear terms explaining and ask them to provide a written explon of how they come to that figure.
I would also make it clear that you cannot afford to make one large payment and that any money that is due will need to be broken down across several months.
