Hello everyone. I know this subject has been raised before but I cannot find the post. What is the ruling with a compensation payout for car crash injuries. Thanks Mark.

Yes we are in an iva at present. The situation is we were shunted from behind earlier this week. Myself, wife & son have been left with injuries. They are only minor, thankfully. However, our insurance company have instructed solicitors to work on our behalf for a compensation payout if deemed neccesary. This seems a lot of hassle to go through if I had to pay it over to the creditors. Thanks Mark.

It is likely that any claim would be for pain and suffering which is not a windfall. However, you could offer what you receive as full and final settlement of your IVAs which may make the hassle worthwhile.

Speak to your IP before you decide what to do.

Thanks for your advice. The amount we owe is much more substantial than the amount we are looking to claim.
