Hey all, been a while since I’ve posted, as of today I’m finally in my 3rd year! So 3 more to go!! :) I was just wondering how some of you guys went about getting a mortgage after you completed your iva? I mean I’m only 23 now so I have a while to go before I think of a mortgage, by the time my iva has been completed and it has dropped off my credit report I will be 26/27, so still young.. but when I get to that age I will be thinking about buying a house. I’d like to say when I’m about 30-35 I would like to buy one, I am currently trying already to save a little bit aside for a deposit, so hopefully when the time comes I’ll have a decent deposit.. but how did you guys do it? Did you have any problems getting a mortgage after and Iva? Please please help me if you can :) I hope you are all well

Many of us have gone on to get mortgages at the normal High Street rates and from High Street lenders. The longer after the IVA has completed and cleared your credit history, the better. The larger deposit, the better.
My advice would be to use a whole of market broker, like Ryan or Shaun, both of whom are forum members and have placed many other members with mortgages. Part of the trick is knowing who asks what questions and what their policies are regarding the answers.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Definitely speak to our mortgage brokers as foggy suggests. Using a broker who knows the whole of the market is vital to get you the best deal.

Hi,
We have helped many people off the forum obtain mortgages after their IVA, so would be more than happy to look in to this nearer the time for you.
