Just looking for some advice/insight really.

We completed out 6 years in early April this year. Still no completion certificates, it's still showing as active on the government website and obviously still on our credit records.

Can anyone advise if this is normal that it takes this long for all the completion certificates / closure etc? (I'm with
McCamvridge Duffy... never had any problems throughout the IVA so this is surprising me)

Once we finally get our completion certificates can anyone advise how long it will be until it drops off the register and our records? We are due to have to move soon and I was hoping this would all be off our records by now so that we wouldn't have to possibly use a guarantor. It's so utterly frustrating tk be at the end of the 6 years then to feel like things are continuing to be difficult.

It can take up to 6 months to issue the certificate and, whilst McCD are usually pretty hot off the mark, covid has slowed everything down ! As the IVA started over 6 years ago now, it will drop off the Insolvency Register within 3 months of the date of issue of the certificate, and then, shortly thereafter ( according to their processing runs) from the credit reference agencies.

There is no harm in dropping your IP a line inquiring as to progress.

I take it the certificate isn't backdated to the date of actual completion?

No. The 'official' date of completion is the date of issue of that certificate --- technically, although you have complied with everything, you are still in the IVA.

If it were me I would be starting to make a weekly nuisance of myself chasing for completion - it should be almost there now.

Hi. Towards the top of the page in blue there is a line "IVA/ Forum Home/ New Questions ? Ask IVA Forum and Industry Experts " ---- click on "Ask IVA Forum and Industry Experts " . Then, towards the top of the Announcements box is a blue button: "+ New Topic". Click on that and away you go.
