hi there, our iva finished a year ago, but the original iva company Debt Free Direct failed to complete our ppi claim properly and this was not finished by the end date. a new iva company took over in the last year and is asking us to sign and return ppi forms as if its never been started. am i correct in thinking theyve missed their chance and that we could put a claim in ourselves?

No you are not -- to a degree -- you are free to claim yourselves, but any refund will have to be paid to your creditors and you could be liable for any claims company fee. This follows a recent court ruling.

The reason for the claim is not that the previous claims were not completed but that the banks are still being accused of refusing earlier valid claims by the ovbudsman and fresh claims were advised ... that and the approaching deadline has prompted certain firms into a flurry of last minute activity.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
