Our IVA with Aperture was completed in full 2015, we have never received any completion paperwork. In August 2020 Santander informed us a PPI claim for
£2,200 had been successful but the money was sent to Aperture due to Aperture having a interest in our finances.I explained that my IVA was completed fully in 2015 Santander replied they had to forward this money to Aperture this was at the end of August 2020 it has from then to 4th November i managed to contact Aperture, they agree that we are intitled to this money but i will be charged a handling fee. They have had the money since September 1st 2020 they have never contacted us to say that they were holding this money. Are they entitled to charge this fee, also are we entitled to a completion certification had we had this i could have produced this to Santander would have forwarded the money to us and no fee would have been charged.

Yes, you should have a completion certificate -- were you ever sent the final accounts ? It would have been with that --- it is not a 'certificate', as such, but a paragraph on a slip of paper confirming completion. Presentation of this would have made no difference to the PPI. The courts recently ruled that PPI paid out post completion still belongs to the IVA trust --- to be honest, I am surprised that Aperture have deemed that you can have the money.

As for this 'handling fee' .... I have not come across this before as I have not seen the PPI refunds transferred back to the debtor, since the court ruling. How much is this fee ? You could complain to their regulatory body -- the threat of which might make Aperture 'shut up and pay up' .

I received a refund from Aperture on completion but no notice of completion. It was Santander that said if i could send proof of completion they would call back the money from Aperture and send the money direct to me. This PPI award was 5 years after i completed my IVA.
Why would Santander still have this notice of Aperture interest in my finances. It is not Aperture saying it is there fee but a management services.

Ah -- the claim was made by a claims management company (Was it ??) , therefore the usual fee will apply.

As Santander was handling PPI i assumed that they had handled the claim as the payment was in full. They claimed the money was sent to Aperture ( not first dispute management)
