I have had one of my annual reviews today and must admit that in my naivety I expected a little more help from my IVA company
Ill try to keep this short...
2 years ago I had a change in job and also personal circumstances. My income increased dramatically but as did my expenditure as I became a father and moved in to a property with my partner who was then only qualifying for statutory maternity pay.
I had to start paying in more money to my IVA per month as my increased salary outweighed my expenditure rise. However I have found out in the last 3 months that this was not to be the case as my tax coding had been wrong. I was told that my arrears were £2k and had to be paid, so I increased my monthly payments to suit, however I am now in huge tax arrears due to my PAYE code been wrong previously. Therefore the £2k that I am paying in to my IVA never existed, but I am still having to pay it in to my IVA
Does anybody have any experience in trying to get this revoked in an IVA and getting the arrears removed?
You have to argue the case that the increase previously applied is no longer correct --- I would suggest putting this is writing, addressed directly to your IP, rather than trying to argue the case to a call handler.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
That's the process I have just begun. Its not easy though as there is quite a bit of number crunching and maths involved that my IP just does not seem willing to consider
