Hi,

I am starting to get things in order to go through with an iva. I don’t want my partner to find out what I am doing but I have had to provide info of his wage. The person I have been talking to has put the info in and called half hour before I had my verification call and told me to agree with the figures he has put.

My partners income has come up and has been imputed lower than potentially what he earns?
The disposal income is lower than what I expected to come out?
They have said they will be checking my funds every month and I am to provide pay slips every month?
I feel I am so under the microscope that I don’t think I will be able to live my life?

Any help and advice would be great

His income, generally, is only used to calculate your share of household expenses --- they usually assume 50 / 50 if his income is not provided ( and, why should it be ? It is his business).

Yes, you are under the financial microscope ... they need to check that you don't earn over your normal amount each month (not your husband -- you) so that any extra income can be shared with the IVA as you earn it. If your income is pretty much the same each month most firms are happy with three payslips / bank statements and a P60 at the end of each year, although some want every payslip. Some, like Creditfix are over intrusive and want access to your bank account as well ----- If you are uncomfortable with scrutiny, you will find it hard going, but you do get used to it. I would suggest a chat with a couple of firms to find the one you are most comfortable with, before starting the process proper.

Who have you been speaking to so far ?
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
