Hi my partner and I was in an IVA and it failed after 3 years, but we still had a completion certificate, odd I know but turns out the company was dodgy! That was back in 2011, im now in the process of reclaimng PPi, but the bank is refusing to issue the money and offset the payment to one of its accounts, can they do this? Debating on pursuing to the Financial Ombusman, any advise is great.

They are not supposed to offset the money against an old debt in a successfully completed IVA .... not sure whether yours was. Anyway, they are supposed to send the refund to your former IP as the money belongs to all of your former creditors, as recently confirmed in the courts, even on completed IVAs.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Was it completion or a termination letter? Who was the company?
