Thanks everybody. Your replies were really kind and helpful and it has made me feel much better.

I've been on the website that was suggested and contacted Vincent Bond, they've called me already but I can't leave my desk to speak to them at the mo.

Aaaaargh, wish me luck! Cqan't believe this has happened, I was so psyched up to the IVA!

It is so rare to read about rejections on here that I think we were all taken by surprise.

VB are an excellent firm and I'm sure they will help you out.

Just wanted to say thank you to everybody for their advice. I've been speaking with Vincent Bond and they are lovely! I've already had more advice from them than from my original IP. BR looks like being the route for me (so I guess I should migrate over to that forum) but I wanted to say thank you to everyone for their help and support.

Lots of love

Why don't you look at representing the proposals? Some firms still have the 40% HSBC restriction, but many do not - and I regularly get cases accepted by that particular creditor with dividends of as low as 15p in the £. If the IVA is right for you, I would personally give it another go first.

Well my current IP don't want to redo the proposals (VB told me they have 15 days to appeal but my IP never told me that!) and VB said my creditors won't take another proposal for at least 6 months and I can't keep paying them off for that long (I can't pay them off at all tbh!)

Is this all accurate? I have just moved so my I&E have actually changed but but but...

No - you can represent proposals at any time you like.

How much were you offering to creditors and how much do you owe in total?

I owe about £26k, I was proposing £240 which fell foul of MBNAs 10 year rule. To be honest my IP pushed me into that to make the HSBC 40% thing. £200 is nearer my limit esp as I've just moved and my rent's increasing. But I guess that's too low for anyone to consider?

Aaaaargh! Stress!

There should have been no need to push you to make payments that you cannot afford. If your IP firm insisted on returning 40p to HSBC, this is because they have not met acceptable standards set by that creditor's representative.

An offer of £200 per month on debts of £26,000 ought to work - and I am sure you would be able to find an IP firm to put that forward for you if you are minded to try again. Did you pay the previous firm any money?

My IVA was rejected on the 7th Sept when I was with Payplan and thanks to this forum and McCambridge Duffy, and Michael, it was redone and put in and was accepted on the 22nd October so it can be done again very quickly. You have to decide what is best for you and I wish you luck in whatever you decide to do.
