If you have finished your IVA with GT and the restriction has not been removed, contact Aperture who may be able to help. Or contact your old IP direct.

Hi we received our completion certificate in 2017. We are remortgaging to a different lender and the solicitor instructed by the Lender has made us aware of the Restriction by Grant Thornton. They are wanting to charge £180 to have it removed. Should it of been removed when the IVA was completed?

Yes it should and you should not have to pay to have it removed. Grant Thornton are now Aperture and should remove it now.

Who is asking for £180 to remove the restriction ?? It should have been removed in 2017 as a matter of course. They should not be charging for this.

The bank's solicitor need do nothing. You need to contact Aperture, or the IP direct --- do you remember who it was ? --- and demand that they see to it as a matter of urgency.

My husband has spoken to Apeture and they said the restriction will be removed within 48 hours. I remember he had to keep calling for the completion certificate. How do I check it has been removed?

Check with the Registry to make sure it has been removed.
