I entered into an IVA over 10 years ago unfortunately I had to go bankrupt 12 months later. The IVA company did not tell me that they had put a restriction on my home. At the time there was no equity in it. I found out there was a restriction on it in 2018 when I was going to switch a secure loan. I have contacted them and they are saying I still owe creditors from over 10 years ago even though I went bankcrupt and are now discharged and have been for years. Please advise.
No you don't if you were discharged from BR. Have you checked the Insolvency Register?

Might I ask which firm this was and who did you speak to ( a qualified person or a call handler)? Can you still contact the OR who dealt with the bankruptcy and get their thoughts ?

IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
Thanks for your reply. I have definitely been discharged from bankruptcy but it's the IVA company that wont lift the restriction from the Land registary
I am sure that the question of the property would have been dealt with by the OR, who would have taken control of the title and been aware of a restriction at the time. How was the property dealt with by the OR ?

The OR put a restriction on the property but lifted it as soon as I was discharged. The IVA company did but i only found this out nine years later. At the time there was no equity but obviously 9 years later there is.
