Sorry for the delay. I don't know but I imagine it might be difficult. Hopefully Foggy will be along soon to clarify.

First --- is the PTA registered as a charity with the Charities Commission (as many are) ? If so, you are disqualified from acting as a trustee. What is your position in the association ?

You can open an account -- which will be in the name of the PTA, but I would be disinclined to be a signatory on the account and you might well be barred anyway by the PTA's constitution. So this would need to be checked.

In the meantime I would have an informal chat with one or two banks to see what their requirements are.
